My name is Fatima, a third-year BS-MS student at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal, one of the premier science institutes in our country. Alhamdulillah, I earned this seat purely on merit, and I am working hard to excel in my studies.

Before the pandemic, my father ran a small scrap-trading business that supported our family’s needs. But the lockdowns and economic slowdown drastically affected his income. What was once a stable source of livelihood has now become unpredictable and insufficient.

We come from a humble household, and education has always been our biggest priority. Along with my own college expenses, my father also has to support my two younger siblings, making our financial situation even more challenging. Despite his best efforts, the burden of my semester fees has become too heavy for us to manage.

I want to continue my education with dignity and complete my studies without becoming a burden on my family. I dream of building a career through which I can support my parents and help others in need, InshaAllah. But at this moment, I cannot do it alone.

I humbly request the Muslim community to support my education.
